Regulation on Athlete Advancement to Class B or A Competition
Athletes shall not compete against opponents classified under Class B or Class A without formal authorization or recommendation from a certified WushuCanada Official affiliated with the Sanda Committee.
Eligibility for consideration to advance from Class C to Class B/A shall be contingent upon the following criteria:
- Match Experience: The athlete must have successfully completed a minimum of five (5) sanctioned matches within Class C competition.
- Technical Proficiency and Rule Familiarity: The athlete must demonstrate adequate knowledge of the current rules, protocols, and technical standards of the sport. This may be evidenced through documented participation in WushuCanada-recognized training camps or instruction under a Certified WushuCanada High Performance Coach.
- Provisional Classification: Athletes newly promoted to Class B or A who do not hold an official national ranking shall remain subject to Class C regulatory controls, including but not limited to match pacing, permitted techniques, and safety protocols, regardless of event level (e.g., provincial or national championships).
- Final Clearance for Class B/A Competition: Full eligibility to compete under Class B or A rules and conditions shall be granted solely upon evaluation and clearance by the appointed Chief Referee, who shall assess the athlete’s technical competence, tactical maturity, and competitive readiness.
